An Enlightening tale

The beggar kept on coming everyday to get the bread and everytime he returned the ring he will be rewarded with new loaf of bread. After 3 years of the same routine he became a healthy man for he was well fed and decided that he should find job to support himself. One day he requested to meet the lady of the house to apply for a job. He was brought to meet the lady whom never recognized her as the beggar and she agreed to allow him to work as the bread maker. On the first day of working the beggar baked a loaf of bread which was then served to the lady of the house. She was surprise to find a gold ring in the bread and immediately called for the beggar to explain the presence of the ring. The beggar explained that it was his ring which was lost during the process of baking the bread. It was then returned back o him. The next day the same incidence happened again and again until at the end of the week when the lady of the house could no longer accepted his simple explanation and demand for the truth. The beggar then requested for Jeremiah to be presence during the reveal of truth. The beggar then started by telling the lady of the house that she was a very beautiful woman and that her beauty was enhanced by her generosity and kindness. These quality has attracted a gentleman with equally good characters which will make them beautiful couple. He then revealed the event when he received the first loaf of bread from them which after a while he figured out that it was purposely put in the bread by the lady of the house hoping that the butler would find it and return it back to her so as to start their relationship. As the beggar end his explanation both the lady of the house and the butler looked at each other lovingly and admit their feelings towards each other. The love story end up in a happily ever after marriage and the beggar remained as their faithful cook.

Kelly

What I like about the story:

The story is light and easy. There was some element of suspense and entertainment which keep on reading it until the end. Upon reaching the end the reader would be smiling away and probably felt that their guess was right if they thought that Kelly is non-human. However to those who really thought that Kelly is a man then they would feel defeated. Therefore readers would be split into two. One who guess correctly and vice versa. That is what made the story is interesting to be read till the end.

What I don’t like about the story:

There is no message or lesson learnt in the story because it was too straight forward. To those who has been reading similar genre of short story would be able to know that Kelly is non-human. To those readers who expect some lesson learnt in their readings would be disappointed with the flow and end of this short story.

Fashion Parade

Brian felt guilty when he saw the painful look in Sunisa’s face and hold her hand tightly while leading her out from the hall. While they were walking and chatting they heard a loud scream of a woman in front of them and sound of gun shots. Brian quickly lead Sunisa to the nearest corner and both of them hide in the shadow. Brian and Sunisa sweat profusely when they heard footsteps walking by them and they were uttering words that Brian did not understand. Sunisa trembled silently and later whispered into his ears that those men were uttering words related to terrorism. Later both of them were found and they were led into the hall with the rest of audiences of the fashion show. They were warned to keep quiet and sat near each other on the seats. Suddenly there were sounds of gun shots near the hall and armies were seen barged into the hall. The terrorist were caught and cuffed. Their face were covered with cloths. Brian and Sunisa and the rest of them were released and brought to safety. Sunisa was trembling violently that Brian had to hold her tight to keep calm her down. After they had given their statement to the investigating officers they went back to their hotel. On the last day of their holiday together Brian proposed to Sunisa and planned for their marriage in 6 months time. The incident made them realized that they should be together and not to stay far apart from each other because danger can happen at any time and Brian wants to always be there to protect Sunisa.

The Princess Mouse

What I do like…

 I like the way this story that shows love does not need to see physically but see with full of sincerity. For example when one a farmer’s son which is Mikko does’t not have any sweetheart yet and then he was looking for a sweetheart very vigor. Once he found a sweetheart, it was not a human as he thought. But it’s only a talking mouse that live in the cottage with a velvet’s fur and with the bright eyes like a princess. Mikko accepting the mouse without any compliment because of the true love with a full of sincerity. I also like the cooperation of the group of mouse that create a dress which is out came linen and fine beyond belief that had been request by Mikko’s father. Once a little mouse rang bell, all of the group of mouse help each other without giving up on the goals that they need to achive.

What I don’t like..

The behavior of Mikko’s brother that cannot accept his brother sweetheart which is a ltille mouse and not a human. What he did is, he kick out the mouse and make Mikko’s upset.

The Frog

Dear Editor. 

I would like to express my concerned about the behavior of the princess who did not keep her promise that she made to the poor frog. She also did not say thank you to the frog who helped her to get back her golden ball which fell into the spring. However she had been obedient to her father and follow his instruction to let the frog into the palace. She was not sincere when she allowed the frog to sit next to her at the dining table and when she brought it to bed. She should display noble behavior in view of her being a princess to the great kingdom.  I would also like to inform you about the irresponsible behavior of the frog who did not explain the detail of the term if he assisted the princess in getting back the golden ball. That left her with lack of options of whether she should accepted his offer of help. Had he explained the truth she might not accept the offer and that save her from all the trouble of having to keep her words. In this case the princess was lucky because the frog turned out to be a handsome prince. If he turn out to be an ugly or evil prince she would have suffered her whole life
